Wildlife sightings 9 June 2012

A member of the public was delighted to point out to Jenny a flock of 25 Brent geese just off Craigleith.

Bass Rock – gannets with chicks
Craigleith – gulls and puffins. Think there are pufflings but still to spot one
Isle of May – shags with chicks, kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills
Fidra – fulmars
Dunbar – kittiwakes on eggs

First guillemot chick seen at Bass Rock being very carefully nurtured by the adults.
Six bottlenose dolphins seen near Prestonpans earlier in the week.
Kittiwakes’ chicks being carefully tended and fed on the Isle of May and we followed the eider ducklings.
Occasional puffins being seen off the Plattock Rocks.
